Midget Racing Recap!

This past year, I jumped from racing micros locally at Millbridge Speedway to racing midgets nationally in both the XTREME OUTLAW SERIES and POWRi nationals. It was a transition but I loved every second of it. I traveled mainly to the Midwest and visited a few states I had never been to. I went to Kansas (Humboldt Speedway + 81 Speedway) and Missouri (Doe Run Raceway) for the first time, and raced in Illinois (Macon Speedway, Lincoln Speedway, and SIR) again for the second year in a row.

Since I started racing, I knew I wanted to race a midget at some point. I knew it would be hard to get the funding to go to that level, but that did not stop me. I worked for 3+ years trying to find anything I could for the chance to race a midget. I met the Mounce family on Instagram in 2021 and without them, I would have never met Michael. Michael made my dream come true and sponsored me to race 2 races in 2022 with Mounce/Stout. I ended up racing at Fayette County and Lincoln Speedway during the POWRi midget week and had so much fun. After those 2 races, I was motivated to work even harder to find funding to go full-time in 2023.

Going into 2023, I honestly was not sure what I was going to do. We had sold our micro and I did not have anything for sure going into the new season. I was worried I had failed at my goal and had no idea what to do. I decided to DM Abacus Racing on Instagram and see if they needed a driver, and they gave me the opportunity to drive for them. I was so excited! Driving for a midget team had been my dream for the past few years. Even though I was only able to race 6 races, it was such an amazing opportunity that would not have been possible without them.

Racing a midget was one of the coolest things I have ever done. While I am still working on my 2024 plans, I will always be thankful for all of my opportunities. I can not thank Micheal, Abacus Racing, and Mounce/Stout enough for helping me go from racing micros locally in NC to racing a midget nationally.
